The Berklee College of Music doubles the number of applications from the previous year with expansion of TargetX

Berklee College of Music, a Boston-based institution serving about 6,400 students and recently merged with the Boston Conservatory, was facing barriers to enrollment caused by a cumbersome online application and disjointed audition scheduling. Associate Dean Michael Moyes led an effort to expand the TargetX Recruitment Suite across undergraduate and graduate programs to tie together disparate systems and improve the applicant experience, despite campus skepticism about new technology.

Berklee implemented TargetX Online Application and Events, adding a visual progress interface, integrated document uploads and recommendation requests, and pre-built audition sites and time slots so applicants can schedule auditions immediately after applying. The rollout removed application friction, doubled undergraduate applications year-over-year, simplified the process for many more applicants, and eased campus concerns as the college plans further expansion to graduate, Conservatory and international programs.
