TargetX CRM Meets Widespread Buy-in and Increases Application Conversion at Skagit Valley College

Skagit Valley College, a two-year community college serving about 10,000 students in Northwest Washington, faced low student success and retention, lost tuition revenue, and missed state momentum funding. Applications and student services were fragmented across multiple entry points and “siloed” departments; communications were generic and managed in Excel, leaving no reliable follow-up or personalization. With Title III grant funding, SVC set out to find a CRM to centralize data and improve outreach and retention.

SVC chose TargetX’s Recruitment and Retention Suites on the Salesforce platform to centralize prospect information, streamline the online application, and automate customizable email, phone, and text campaigns while tracking interactions. Early results show strong campus-wide buy-in and increased conversion from application to registration, with staff energized by improved tools; SVC is now rolling out the Retention Suite to add early alerts, progress trackers, action plans, and real-time student feedback.
