Arizona State University, a large public university, needed a better way to engage admitted students who were overwhelmingly using mobile phones. Their previous admitted-student platform was not mobile-friendly or intuitive for young users — it lacked photo posting and a feed-style interface — which led to low usage and weaker pre-enrollment connections.
TargetX’s Schools App (branded devil2devil at ASU) delivered a private, mobile-first social network with familiar features, targeted search by major/region/interests, and staff tools for moderation and outreach. After launch, 95% of activity occurred on mobile, engagement doubled year-over-year, private messaging nearly quadrupled, and admissions staff reported faster responses and stronger student connections that support improved yield.
