The Co-operative Group needed fresh graduate assessment exercises because its previous Assessment Center content was getting old and circulating in student forums, creating a risk to assessment integrity. Working with Talogy, the company sought new exercises that would better identify graduates against its leadership framework while realistically reflecting The Co-operative’s ethical yet commercial culture.

Talogy delivered a research-led redesign, using an online job analysis questionnaire, manager focus groups, and review of existing documentation to build two new “day in the life” exercises and a clearer Assessor Guide. The result was a more tailored and valid assessment process with greater consistency in assessor ratings, stronger alignment to leadership behaviors, and delivery completed ahead of schedule.
