PDS Technical Services, a nationwide specialty recruiting firm with 31 offices, needed a way to improve pre-employment screening and reduce workers’ compensation claims and costs. In 2005, PDS chose Talogy as its assessment vendor to help evaluate candidate traits and identify the most qualified applicants for highly skilled roles.

Talogy worked with PDS Technical Services to implement an assessment focused on productivity and safety, along with custom candidate reports and separate versions for new hires and rehires. The results were significant: workers’ compensation claims dropped from 115 to 18 per year, annual costs were reduced by more than $450,000, and pre-employment screening filtered out 20% of candidates more likely to show low production or unsafe behavior.
