A global manufacturer of tissue, packaging, paper, pulp and building products wanted to improve the quality of its hourly workforce by increasing safety, attendance and productivity across its North American facilities. To address rising disciplinary issues, safety incidents and absenteeism, the company sought a more effective pre‑hire screening approach.
They partnered with Select International to introduce the SecureFit® screening assessment at the start of the hiring process and validated it across positions and divisions. Employees rated as "Very Good Fit" scored 21% higher on performance and 24% higher on attendance than those rated "Poor Fit"; the Poor Fit/failed group had three times more disciplinary actions and roughly twice as many safety incidents (39% vs 13% disciplinary; 13% vs 6% safety incidents). The assessment helped the company identify higher‑performing, more reliable, and safer hires.
