Currys, Britain’s largest electronics retailer, needed to improve entry-level graduate hiring as application volumes grew and it became harder to identify top talent fairly. The company also wanted to attract a more diverse candidate pool, especially more female candidates and candidates from BAME backgrounds, while increasing engagement with its employer brand. Currys turned to Talogy and its Hire graduate recruitment solution to help address these challenges.
Talogy designed a blended graduate assessment process for Currys that included a new competency framework, an online screening flow with employer branding, ability and personality assessments, a customized “Day in the Life” assessment center, and assessor training. The result was a major improvement in quality of hire and diversity: female graduate hires rose from 26% to 64%, and BAME hires increased from 16% to 50% of total graduate hires.
