How TalentClick Customized a Solution to Help a Global Manufacturer with Hiring in Remote Locations

International Forest Products (Interfor), a global softwood lumber producer with over 3,000 employees and multiple sawmills in rural locations, faced ongoing recruitment challenges identifying quality candidates where many applicants were unskilled and applicant history was sparse. TalentClick was engaged to address job-fit and culture-fit needs using customized assessment tools — notably the Workstyle & Performance Profile (WPP) and Work Values & Attitude (WVA) assessments — after benchmarking exercises and mapping job competencies to personality and skills dimensions.

TalentClick delivered tailored WPP/WVA reports, predictive analytics for front-line roles (including verbal, numerical and spatial skills), and user training for hiring managers; the program was expanded to all locations and used on-site at job fairs. As a result, Interfor reports reduced screening time for new applicants, improved quality of hire and an increase in hiring high performers, decreased new-hire turnover, stronger interview processes via personalized questions, and gains in employee engagement, team morale, productivity and safety.
