Virgin Mobile France, a fast-growing MVNO on the Orange network with roughly one million customers, faced the twin challenges of managing rapid growth and improving profitability by understanding customer behavior. Their LAMP-based production systems generated massive volumes—about 5 million invoicing tickets per day—but lacked the analytical and reporting capabilities needed by finance, marketing, and customer service.

Working with Logica, Virgin Mobile implemented Talend Data Integration to extract, transform and load data into a star-schema data warehouse, decrypting and segmenting usage to support sales, marketing, customer service and fraud management. The solution processes 5 million tickets per day, integrates with MySQL, is managed in-house, and has delivered faster executive insight and the marketing intelligence needed to create tailored offers and boost customer loyalty.
