American Airlines faced a major post‑merger challenge—Project Spring—to consolidate HR and payroll data across 130,000+ active and 500,000+ former employees into a single cloud platform (SAP SuccessFactors and HANA Enterprise Cloud). Syniti, engaged as the Premier SAP Solution Extensions partner, was brought in to lead data migration and information governance using SAP Advanced Data Migration by Syniti, powered by Syniti’s Knowledge Platform (SKP).

Syniti worked with AA, SAP and Deloitte to establish a core data team, define accountable data owners, automate data quality checks and enforce mapping/business rules via the ADM/SKP solution. The effort converted data for more than 335,000 current and former employees to SuccessFactors, migrated payroll for 35,000+ employees to HANA Enterprise Cloud, extracted over 690 million records, created nearly 10,000 business rules and generated 2,600+ reports—achieving better than 99.9% automation of the employee data transformation.
