Fossil Group - Customer Case Study

Fossil Group, a global fashion accessories company selling through retail, wholesale and growing e-commerce channels, faced rapidly changing multi‑channel demand, strong seasonality and a need to expand warehouse and picking capacity. To meet these challenges it engaged Swisslog Holding to modernize its intralogistics, integrating a state‑of‑the‑art SmartCarrier shuttle system with its existing zone‑to‑zone pick‑by‑light infrastructure.

Swisslog Holding implemented the SmartCarrier automated shuttle warehouse and connected it to the legacy picking system, creating a flexible, scalable multi‑channel logistics center. The 6‑aisle, 19‑level installation provides ~35,600 storage locations for up to 5,000 items, 12 (expandable to 32) picking stations, 1,630 totes/hour throughput and handles about 40,000 order lines (≈5,600 customer orders) per day — with up to 13,000 packages dispatched daily — while driving virtually zero picking errors, higher workstation utilization and faster, more responsive order fulfillment.
