Facing slow microfilm retrieval times of 2–5 days, compliance pressures, and a risk of downtime from aging technology, the bank needed a faster digital scanning and capture solution that could improve customer service and support business continuity.

Swiss Post Solutions implemented a document management solution with archive conversion, day-forward scanning, and a secure web portal for instant access. The project scanned and cross-referenced 43 million images, enabled authorised staff to find documents in about 5 seconds, and reduced new correspondence availability from two weeks to within 48 hours. The solution also delivered disaster recovery, regulatory compliance, and cost savings.
