Case Study: AirAsia achieves streamlined maintenance operations and reduced AOG risk with Swiss AviationSoftware's AMOS

A Swiss AviationSoftware Case Study

Preview of the AirAsia Case Study

Air Asia Using AMOS “as-is” for Four Years

AirAsia, a leading low-cost carrier operating a fleet of 93 aircraft from its Kuala Lumpur hub, needed a comprehensive maintenance & engineering (M&E) system to support rapid growth and replace legacy MRO software. The airline selected AMOS from Swiss AviationSoftware for its out-of-the-box functionality, user-friendly GUI and minimal customisation requirements, with implementation support from ST Aerospace and input from ex‑Ryanair executives.

Swiss AviationSoftware’s AMOS was delivered and implemented “as‑is” (with ST Aerospace managing the rollout), using the built-in migration kit to transfer large data volumes and completing the project on time in six months with a Go‑Live in October 2007. AMOS now manages AirAsia’s entire A320 fleet and AirAsia X’s A330/A340 operations, delivered measurable benefits such as streamlined processes, improved station stock levels and stock‑level alerts that have avoided AOG events several times, and full user acceptance supported by AirAsia’s ongoing participation in AMOS development.
