A Swiftype Case Study
NYU Libraries, the research library system of New York University, needed better control over its site search. Until recently the library used the parent university’s Google Site Search, which offered little customization or insight into how patrons searched and where they failed to find information.
Working with their CMS vendor they implemented Swiftype in a single day, unlocking detailed analytics and search-control features. Those insights let the team add synonyms (e.g., for “E‑ZBorrow”), fix missing-result queries, and move search to a more prominent spot—leading to higher search usage and a clearer measure of users’ find-success, improving the overall user experience and reducing support burden.
