Case Study: Engadget achieves greater search control and engagement with Swiftype

A Swiftype Case Study

Preview of the Engadget Case Study

Engadget - Customer Case Study

Engadget, the technology publisher with a massive and widely distributed content library, needed a centralized search experience that could unify results across multiple backends. Using Swiftype’s Publisher Search, Engadget wanted more control over which results appeared for important queries, while keeping search accurate and current for newly published articles.

Swiftype implemented a crawler-based search solution that indexed content directly from Engadget’s HTML, avoided duplicate content, and instantly picked up new articles. With the Swiftype Dashboard, Engadget’s team could reorder results without engineering help, and the change drove measurable gains: an 18% increase in pageviews from search results and a sitewide lift in average time on site.
