A Swiftype Case Study
The City of Wilson, a municipality of about 50,000 in eastern North Carolina, rebuilt its website and removed an unreliable search tool. The IT Operations team needed a replacement that would give both citizens and internal departments faster, easier access to information while enabling the team to be more innovative and service-oriented.
They implemented Swiftype’s webSite Search, using real-time indexing and analytics to surface content quickly, better organize pages, and identify emerging citizen needs. The search sped information retrieval, helped the city respond in real time during events like Hurricane Matthew (including creating an on-the-fly flooded-streets app), increased overall site usage, and improved customer service for residents and employees.
