A SurveyMonkey Case Study
Women’s March Global, a nonprofit coalition working across hundreds of chapters, faced an urgent challenge in 2020: rising domestic violence and widespread reluctance to attend in-person events during the pandemic, combined with a chronic lack of consistent, global data on women’s needs. With a goal to empower women to be counted and heard, the organization set out to run a first-of-its-kind global survey to map barriers and elevate timely issues across more than 170 countries and dozens of partner organizations—despite having a small staff and limited resources.
Working with SurveyMonkey Enterprise and Momentive Professional Services for multilingual deployment, API support and analytics, the team launched the Global Count survey and rapidly collected tens of thousands of responses—over 2,000 in a single night and more than 31,000 globally. Custom dashboards gave local chapters direct access to results, revealing violence against women as the top issue and enabling targeted action plans; the data is now being shared with partners and will be used annually to guide advocacy and programs.
