TRIPP is a VR company that builds psychedelic, meditation-focused experiences to promote mindfulness, calm and present-moment focus. Their challenge was proving and improving effectiveness for users while their experiences continuously change: they needed in-product measurement to know which environments actually lift mood, which to remove, and how to tailor content for different users and clinical applications.
To solve this, TRIPP embedded SurveyMonkey-powered surveys into the VR experience, letting users rate mood (or craving, for clinical trials) before and after sessions using only head movement. That data created a rapid feedback loop—driving nightly content tweaks, removing low-rated experiences, and revealing insights (e.g., “realistic” nature can increase stress; men prefer floating, women prefer ground-level scenes). The approach helped them validate impact (80% of users report an average 25% mood boost), supported a $1.7M NIH-funded addiction study, and informed their expansion from corporate wellness into consumer and clinical markets.
