The State of Michigan’s Department of Technology, Management & Budget (DTMB), through its Office of Performance Management (OPM), relied on in-person workshops and focus groups to gather employee feedback. When the workforce shifted to remote in 2020, OPM struggled to replicate the engagement and real‑time interaction of those sessions and needed a feedback solution that would integrate with Microsoft Teams.
Upgrading to SurveyMonkey Enterprise and integrating it with Teams let OPM run live polls, pre- and post‑event surveys, and automated reports, while expanding access so more team members could create and send surveys. The change freed up specialists, provided shareable analytics for leaders and sponsors, and became a scalable, long‑term best practice for keeping remote employees engaged.
