A SurveyMonkey Case Study
Carlex Glass, a subsidiary of Central Glass that manufactures automotive glass, faced the April 2020 challenge of running daily COVID-19 health checks for about 1,800 employees across six plants. With many workers lacking company email and in-person screening seen as slow and labor-intensive, leadership needed a way to screen symptoms and communicate quickly without disrupting production.
Carlex used SurveyMonkey to distribute reopening information, collect employee contact details, and run a four-question “Return to Work” survey aligned with CDC guidance; summary reports were delivered to key teams each morning. The program achieved roughly a 70% response rate, generated more than 17,000 responses, helped the plants resume full capacity, improved internal communication, and saved about $9,000 per day in overtime—delivering strong ROI.
