A Sumo Logic Case Study
Alaska Airlines, which serves more than 120 destinations across North America, undertook a major migration of its monolithic website and supporting applications from on‑premises data centers to Microsoft Azure and Kubernetes. The team needed continuous observability to protect customer experience during the move, but its incumbent APM was cost‑prohibitive and ill‑suited for the new cloud and AKS environments.
Alaska standardized on Sumo Logic’s Continuous Intelligence Platform for application observability and software delivery optimization, using dashboards and SLO alerts to monitor site reliability, run chaos engineering game days to build response playbooks, and right‑size Kubernetes resource requests. The result was a smooth migration to Kubernetes, faster incident remediation (a real Redis outage was resolved in 10 minutes using a chaos‑day runbook), and optimized performance and cloud costs.
