University of Georgia Press - Customer Case Study

University of Georgia Press, founded in 1938 and publishing over 60 new books a year, needed a reliable way to manage submissions for its competitions (including the Flannery O’Connor Award, the Georgia Poetry Prize, and Crux: The Georgia Series in Literary Nonfiction). To handle high volume intake and complex, multi-round review workflows across a review team of more than 20 people, the Press adopted the Submittable platform in 2010.

Submittable centralized submission collection and review, enabling the Press and several partner organizations to receive and judge entries online. As a result, University of Georgia Press has processed close to 5,000 submissions since 2010—averaging at least 300 submissions per prize category each year—while streamlining multi-round reviews and supporting both in-house and out-of-house competitions.
