Saying No to File Cabinets and Yes to Streamlined Application Management

Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC) supports artists across New York City but struggled to manage applications, registrations, and surveys for three grant programs using email attachments, spreadsheets, and printed forms for 13 review panels. To replace time-consuming manual data entry, scanning, and paper archives, BAC adopted Submittable’s application management platform.

Submittable delivered customizable online forms, tagging, and assignment features that let applicants and volunteer reviewers edit, share, and review materials remotely, eliminating the need for paper filing and repeated data re-entry. As a result, BAC has created nearly 60 unique forms used across departments, improved application clarity and tracking, and freed staff time previously spent on scanning and manual organization.
