A Submittable Case Study

Saving Administrative Time To Focus On Finding New Talent

NBCUniversal’s Talent Infusion Programs (NBCU TIPS) needed a way to manage thousands of submissions and reduce administrative overhead so staff could focus on finding diverse new creative voices. To streamline filing, emailing, judging and scoring across fellowships, showcases and workshops, NBCU TIPS adopted Submittable’s application management software in 2017.

Submittable centralized uploads (including video), built-in review, filtering and scoring, and automated workflows, enabling NBCU TIPS to handle more than 18,000 submissions across seven programs with 182 reviewers. The platform saved each of six program administrators about one hour per week (280+ hours/year), cut at least 30 seconds per application for reviewers, and—for example—saved roughly 46 hours during the 2018 Female Forward / Emerging Directors intake, freeing staff to focus on talent development rather than logistics.
