One-of-a-kind Programming and Arts Partnerships Made Easy

Starkville Area Arts Council, a nonprofit serving Starkville, MS and Oktibbeha County, needed a better way to manage grants, scholarships, festivals and exhibits after relying on a mix of free online forms and postal submissions. They turned to Submittable, adopting Submittable’s submission management platform with integrated payment processing to replace Google Forms and manual workflows.

Submittable centralized submissions, reduced paper, improved reviewer workflows and enabled in-platform payments, which saved the Starkville Area Arts Council an estimated 80–100 hours per year and about 8–10 hours each spring from payment handling. Submittable’s solution also helped fund operations (festival application fees cover the platform) by routing booth and fee payments directly to the bank, reduced risk from lost checks, improved volunteer and juror retention, and broadened SAAC’s reach to new artists.
