Preview of the City of Inglewood Case Study

How the City of Inglewood launched a first-of-its-kind property tax relief program in less than a month

The City of Inglewood needed to launch a first-of-its-kind property tax relief program on a tight timeline, with a small finance team and a population that included many residents who were not comfortable using computers. The city also needed a secure way to collect sensitive banking information while keeping the application process simple and accessible. Submittable was brought in through U.S. Bank to help support the effort.

Using Submittable, Inglewood built a two-part application process, automated address verification and deduplication, and gave residents a secure portal for submitting information. The city distributed $2.3 million to 4,730 residents, received 5,141 applications, and approved 97% of them. It also achieved a 46% participation rate among eligible applicants, and most of the almost 6,000 people who applied were able to do so without help.
