How CCI exceeded expectations with their new initiative launch thanks to help from smart tech that will support and scale

The Competency and Credentialing Institute, a leader in nursing competency assessment, wanted to launch an independent foundation to support perioperative nursing research and needed a way to manage grant applications without a small internal team getting buried in manual paperwork. As the CCI Research Foundation prepared to open its first funding cycle, it needed a process that could handle applications, reviews, correspondence, and reporting accurately.

CCI chose Submittable’s Zengine grants management platform to run the new program. The system helped the foundation build weighted scoring for proposal review, track applications, email applicants, and manage grant agreements in one place. In its first funding cycle in February 2019, the foundation exceeded expectations and awarded $89,000 to perioperative nursing research.
