Carson Scholars Fund, a national scholarship program that coordinates nominees from 8,500 schools across all 50 states and Washington, DC with a staff of just 10, faced a paper-heavy, non-linear application process prone to errors and high administrative overhead. To streamline intake, review, and reporting, the Fund partnered with Submittable and adopted Submittable’s application intake and workflow platform.

By implementing Submittable’s cloud-based, configurable system and a centralized school lookup, Carson Scholars Fund eliminated dozens of paper forms and manual tasks, automated notifications and reporting, and made workflow changes without IT support. The change saved approximately 650 staff hours in the first year, cut application errors by 95%, and supported over 2,000 annual applicants (500 awardees) more efficiently.
