Dumping the Spreadsheet and Embracing Collaboration in the Cloud

VR Days is an annual international conference and exhibition focused on virtual, augmented and mixed reality content. Frustrated with spreadsheets, Google Forms and Typeform for managing six different forms and hundreds of applications across remote collaborators, VR Days adopted Submittable’s management software to run open calls for speakers, a VR/AR content showcase, a startup competition and pavilion, and volunteer applications.

Submittable delivered an all‑in‑one review portal that took just 20 minutes to set up six forms, lets reviewers view large video files in‑app, and shows application materials side‑by‑side with review forms, notes and communications. The platform replaced error‑prone spreadsheet workflows, improved organization and time savings, enabled 8–12 internal reviewers plus external venture capitalists to participate in selections (notably for the XRBASE Investor Event), and helped VR Days more inclusively manage its 27 festival events.
