Nike teamed with Portland’s BIKETOWN to run a Community Design Challenge inviting local artists to create bike wrap designs, and chose Submittable to manage submissions and community voting. Nike used Submittable’s Gallery View and Public Voting features to streamline applications, showcase finalists, and let the public help choose winning designs.
Submittable worked with Nike’s Community Impact team using its sales and marketing services to build a customized application, display finalists in an online gallery, and facilitate public voting. The contest yielded five winning designs (each applied to 10 special‑edition BIKETOWN bikes for a total of 50 bikes), winners were announced in May 2018 and rolled into the fleet through August, and the campaign boosted community engagement and real-world outcomes for artists—one winner, Marguerite Schumm, credited the opportunity with helping her get a job—demonstrating Submittable’s impact.
