The American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) represents more than 130 public seaport authorities across the US, Canada, the Caribbean, and Latin America and runs programs such as its long‑standing Communications Awards and the Professional Port Manager Certification. A Submittable client since 2015, AAPA uses Submittable’s submission management software across a 24‑member team to handle applications, reviews, and program administration—addressing the need to modernize and streamline the intake and review of large numbers of entries and certification materials.

Using Submittable, AAPA centralized submissions, coordinated reviewers, and managed communications for both the Communications Awards and the four‑year certification program. The platform supported the organization’s processes for programs that in 2018 produced 82 winning Communications Awards entries and ongoing certification cohorts, enabling more organized workflows and collaboration across the 24‑person team.
