Zendesk enters new markets and reduces costs by $1.5M annually with Stripe

Zendesk, the customer, was looking to expand into new markets like Brazil and India while reducing card processing costs in its core regions, including the U.S., U.K., and Europe. Zendesk also needed a trusted payments partner with strong regulatory expertise and technical support to help it navigate complex local requirements and avoid cross-border fees. It chose Stripe for card processing and local acquiring support.

Stripe helped Zendesk migrate all card volumes in January 2022, supported its expansion into Brazil, and provided guidance on local payment and tax requirements. The results included authorization rates around 97%—a 1–2 point improvement over its previous provider—fewer declined transactions, and lower churn. Stripe also cut administrative work, making deposit-in-transit processing 30 minutes faster, and Zendesk estimates Stripe has helped it reduce costs by $1.5M annually.
