Alaska Airlines rolls out Tap to Pay on iPhone to 7,000+ flight attendants with Stripe

Alaska Airlines, a major US carrier, sought to modernize its in-flight payment process by moving away from traditional magnetic card readers. Their challenge was to provide a more contactless and frictionless payment experience for guests while simplifying operations for flight attendants, all without requiring additional hardware. To achieve this, the airline partnered with Stripe.

By implementing Stripe's Terminal SDK to enable Tap to Pay on iPhone, Alaska Airlines empowered its flight attendants to accept contactless payments directly on their company iPhones. This Stripe solution allowed the airline to quickly roll out the system to over 7,000 flight attendants across all US flights, eliminating the need for extra hardware and creating a smoother, more modern payment experience for guests at 40,000 feet.
