House of Fraser - Customer Case Study

House of Fraser, a UK department store group with more than 60 locations and over £1.3 billion in revenue, faced a sprawling, paper-driven analytics environment: thousands of daily grid reports (over 18,000) that were costly to print, slow to produce, and prone to errors. In January 2017 the retailer launched the nGenBI program to simplify, visualise and modernise its BI platform and change how employees consume and act on data.

Using MicroStrategy, House of Fraser rolled out interactive dashboards, self‑service data discovery, mobile reporting and MicroStrategy Office, enabling dashboards to be built in as little as 20 minutes. The initiative cut report clutter from 19,450 to 10,000 (a 48.6% reduction), shaved up to 60% off weekly report production time (about two hours saved per report writer, ~1,000 hours/week across 500 users), expanded analytics users and delivered practical use cases such as footfall and returns analysis to improve store operations and the customer experience.
