SS&C SKYLINE helps union real estate manage complex accounting for 60+ properties

Union Real Estate, a Pittsburgh-based full-service property management and investment firm managing 60+ commercial and residential properties, needed to modernize accounting and operations after decades of manual processes. Vice President Michele DeMarco selected SS&C Technologies’ SKYLINE Property Management Solution to replace paper-based leasing and accounting, standardize ledgers by property, and support complex billing and investor distributions.

SS&C Technologies implemented SKYLINE across accounting and operations—initially on-premises and later migrated to the cloud—enabling property-level GL allocations, streamlined AR/AP, taxes and investor distributions, and consolidated reporting. The platform reduced reporting complexity (cutting roughly 300 custom reports down to 12–15 escalation reports), supports 14 active/22 total users, eliminated disruptive upgrades after the 2016 cloud move, and materially saved staff time while improving accuracy in escalations, recoveries and monthly owner distributions.
