Migration to Geneva® yields big dividends for state pension plan

Investment Services Company, which manages $84 billion for state employees and teachers, faced limits from a 16‑year‑old homegrown portfolio system that only supported US‑dollar accounting and could not handle private equity or other alternative asset classes. To enable multi‑currency operations and broader asset diversification, the agency selected SS&C Technologies’ Geneva global portfolio management system.

SS&C Technologies implemented Geneva with its Professional Services team, including an onsite consultant and coordinated independent IV&V, migrating ten years of daily transaction data and integrating Geneva with trading, securities lending, pricing and analytics feeds. The project finished on time and under budget; operational impacts include multi‑currency and private‑equity support, faster processing (daily custodian reconciliation moved from about 1:00 PM to 10:00 AM), streamlined workflows, improved reporting and enhanced system integration.
