Kimery Wealth Management, a Memphis-based independent RIA led by Kevin Kimery, needed a way to leave the wirehouse model while preserving access to UMAs and SMAs and maintaining a high-touch, active-management process. By implementing SS&C Technologies’ Black Diamond/SMArtX integration in 2017, Kimery Wealth Management gained single-account access to institutional-quality managers, alternative investments, individual securities, funds and ETFs at competitive pricing, enabling a smooth “cut-and-paste” move that kept clients largely unaware of the change. The SS&C Technologies solution allowed the firm to continue serving about 100 households and manage $245 million in AUM with improved operational efficiency, reliable SMA/UMA access, and strong support.
