How one client prepared for NCQA digital measure expansion

A Contracted Provider Organization worked with SS&C Technologies to prepare for NCQA’s shift from hybrid HEDIS measurement to ECDS. The organization faced a growing clinical data challenge across 20 data sources, with manual CCD file loads, inconsistent layouts, member matching issues, outdated care gap rosters, and repeated PSV requirements that made the process unsustainable.

SS&C Technologies implemented an API-driven workflow using partner-access APIs to pull daily HL7 data from the health plan FHIR server, plus CCD batch processing and data quality cleansing to standardize and prepare the data. The result was auditor approval to treat the data as standard supplemental sources, faster automated retrieval and loading, reduced manual effort, and measurable HEDIS improvement across 33 measures, including a 8–11% lift in Controlling High Blood Pressure and stronger positioning ahead of the COL-E ECDS transition.
