Commercial Health Plan Company faced a compressed three-month deadline to enter the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP) after federal approval in mid‑August 2019. With internal resources unable to support a new line of business on that schedule and only seven weeks between final contracting (Sept 23) and open enrollment (Nov 11), the plan engaged SS&C Technologies and its SS&C Health Business Processing as a Service (BPaaS) solution to rapidly implement the required systems and operations.
SS&C Technologies deployed its SS&C Health BPaaS toolkit—core platform, mailroom/claims workflow and call center automation, EDI services, enrollment, provider maintenance, fulfillment, benefit administration and claims payable—working closely with the plan and minimizing customization. SS&C Technologies met all deadlines: open enrollment launched Nov 11 with no issues, member files were exchanged with eight trading partners (including custom formats), ID cards were issued by Dec 15, the system was ready to accept claims by Jan 1, and full implementation was completed in 15 weeks, with daily extracts to the member portal and accumulator processing delivered.
