National Parks - Customer Case Study

National Parks (coordinated by the Association of National Park Authorities) faced the challenge of consolidating 15 separately managed park websites into a single, cost‑efficient platform that could handle shared core requirements while accommodating each park’s individual needs. Budget pressures made it essential to reduce duplication of effort, migrate content from legacy LiveLink sites, and provide a CMS usable by a wide range of staff skills—from content editors to developers. Squiz was selected to deliver the platform, using its Squiz Matrix product.

Squiz implemented a shared Squiz Matrix solution with standardized templates (for example, event formatting), custom migration scripts that exported LiveLink content to XML and a Squiz-built importer to map it into new sites, and tailored training for the three user groups. The result: 14 of 15 park sites migrated to Matrix (the final migration in progress), staff empowered to complete roughly 99% of tasks using out‑of‑the‑box features, reduced duplication and migration costs through reusable scripts, increased capacity for content creation and sharing of best practice, and a platform ready to support future online transactions — cementing an ongoing partnership between Squiz and National Parks.
