The University of the Arts London, a leading multi‑college institution for art, design, fashion and performance, struggled to surface scattered scholarship and funding information across its complex site. Although UAL had worked with Squiz (using Funnelback) since 2014, prospective and current students found it difficult to filter content by eligibility criteria (nationality, course level, department), and UAL needed better analytics to understand search behaviour.

Squiz implemented a highly configurable Scholarships Search solution built on Funnelback with a parametric search widget, consolidating and tagging records, adding filters and a clearer guided user journey, and improving analytics. The Squiz solution significantly improved discoverability and engagement—delivering a 57% increase in page views—while shortening and improving the user journey and providing richer insight into user searches.
