Griffith University - Customer Case Study

Griffith University engaged Squiz to deliver a new student portal that would empower students “to explore, connect and succeed.” The university needed a personalised, task‑focused, fast and accessible portal that could pull data from many disparate systems, remember individual students and support core tasks like enrolment, timetables and academic records — all while working across computers, tablets and phones.

Squiz implemented the myGriffith portal following a research-driven, user‑centred approach (8 focus groups, a university‑wide survey and stakeholder interviews), a strategy‑first content and wireframing process, and a single code path for personalisation that reused Griffith’s existing infrastructure. The portal—built with input from Peak Usability and the myGriffith team—includes editing/testing tools to simulate 30+ user variables, integrates with 22 systems, is multi‑device and extendable, and one week after launch 52.6% of polled students rated it “Excellent,” enabling targeted communication to different student cohorts and measurable UX improvements delivered by Squiz.
