Federation Training, a vocational education provider with 10 campuses across Gippsland and South Eastern Victoria, faced an outdated, hard-to-navigate website that undermined its goal of helping students make informed course choices. To address objectives including an intuitive course search, improved UX/UI and a responsive mobile layout, Federation Training engaged Squiz to redesign the site and deliver a customised course-finder/search experience.

Squiz implemented a course-centric homepage and a tailored search solution featuring enhanced auto-completion, custom results and focused faceted navigation to surface the right course information quickly. The new design made course browsing simple and mobile-friendly, and Squiz’s changes more than doubled search usage — course search page views rose from about 50,000 to over 130,000 in a comparable six-month period.
