Creating a Powerful Driver of Positive User Experience

American College of Physicians (ACP) is a global community of over 150,000 internal medicine specialists who rely on the organisation’s website for authoritative scientific data. When Google discontinued GSA, ACP needed a replacement that could crawl and index medical journals, web pages, PDFs and internal documents, surface relevant authoritative content, and give the web team control over results and ranking — a challenge Squiz addressed with its Funnelback search platform.

Squiz implemented Funnelback to crawl structured and unstructured repositories into a single index and provide a Marketing Dashboard that lets technical and non‑technical staff tune relevance and promote high‑value results. The result was a markedly improved user experience for members and visitors — far fewer complaints, more positive feedback, and better ability to monitor search behaviour, refine queries and deliver more accurate search outcomes for ACP’s 150,000+ members.
