Australian Science Media Centre - Customer Case Study

The Australian Science Media Centre, which runs media briefings and provides raw content and expert reaction to breaking news, needed better, quicker access to its contact and enquiry data. Integrating their legacy database with a new website proved problematic, so ASMC evaluated web‑based options, selected Sugar CRM for its search capabilities, and engaged Squiz to implement and integrate the new system.

Squiz mapped ASMC’s existing data and built customised user groups (journalists, scientists, media officers), a Contacts Module to link individuals to multiple organisations and report on relationships, and a bespoke Enquiries Module to track enquiry details, frequency and patterns. As a result, ASMC now generates targeted reports and accesses the data they need far more quickly; seven months after go‑live Squiz continues to refine the Sugar CRM implementation and is supporting the next integration with the Scimex website.
