How Roaming Goat Uses Square Handheld To Expand Its Footprint

Roaming Goat, a San Francisco restaurant and wine bar founded by Jacob Paronyan, needed a flexible system that could do more than process payments as the business grew from a small enclosed space to a larger operation with a patio and backyard service. Square provided the tools Roaming Goat used, including Square Terminal, Square Register, Square Stand, and later Square Handheld, to help manage its expanding footprint.

With Square Handheld, Roaming Goat was able to let staff take orders and payments on the move, reduce trips back to the register, and ease congestion in its long, narrow space. The result was smoother service, better use of counter space, and a more efficient setup for outdoor and remote areas—helping Roaming Goat scale organically while continuing to grow with Square.
