How Order Ahead Made Merchandise Sales Easier and Faster for Dave Matthews Band

Aloompa, a Nashville-based event technology company founded in 2008, partnered with the Dave Matthews Band to solve a common concert problem: long merchandise lines that force fans to choose between buying gear and watching the show. With the band selling out arenas and a loyal fanbase, the lines created frustration and lost time for attendees.

Aloompa deployed its LiveOrder order-ahead platform, powered by Square, so fans can order merchandise via a mobile-optimized web page or app, pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, or card, and pick up at a dedicated location. The integration provides secure, real-time inventory and easy-to-train workflows for venue staff, resulting in faster transactions, higher customer satisfaction and increased spending — average transaction $66.74, 83% of purchases on mobile, with the 2018 Fall Tour Poster the top seller and peak transactions around 2:00 PM.
