Marquette + Sprout Centralize Strategy, Enhance the University Social Experience

Marquette University, a Milwaukee-based institution with 11,000 students and 110,000 alumni, saw rapid growth across its Facebook and Twitter channels but struggled with siloed departmental accounts, inconsistent messaging, slow responses and no centralized oversight. These disjointed efforts made it difficult to standardize publishing, measure success and deliver a cohesive social experience to students, alumni and prospective students.

Marquette implemented Sprout Social to centralize social activity across 10 departments and 15 team members, creating shared best practices, uniform reporting and visibility for social leads while preserving department-level engagement. The platform improved workflow through task assignments and one-click ticketing, enabled consistent analytics and boosted engagement—resulting in 125 million impressions, 200K unique social users and 350K interactions tracked in 14 months.
