Codecademy, an online coding education platform, wanted to improve website conversion by understanding what new visitors expected from its product and whether their goals aligned with what Codecademy offered. To get inside the minds of website visitors, Codecademy used Sprig microsurveys to uncover user goals, motivations, and concerns.

With Sprig, Codecademy sent tens of thousands of open-ended microsurveys and analyzed 1,500 responses to learn that many users were unsure of their own ability to learn coding, while hobbyists and career-focused users had different priorities. Sprig’s analysis helped Codecademy refine messaging for each persona, use customers’ exact words for copy testing, and better target career-oriented users, who generated most of the revenue.
