Demandbase, a leader in Account-Based Marketing, faced rapidly rising cloud costs as it scaled — they had some success with Spot Instances in development but struggled with interruptions and hadn’t considered Spot for production. The team evaluated Spot (Spotinst) for its native Kubernetes and Rancher integration to safely leverage Spot capacity for containerized workloads.

Demandbase rolled out Spotinst across dev and production, integrating with Kubernetes, Rancher and Jenkins CI/CD (setup took under a day) and benefited from fast, responsive support. Using Spot, Demandbase achieved ~80% savings on EC2/container costs, grew to 200k+ monthly Spot hours and roughly 10x’ed Spot workloads in under a year, and is expanding Kubernetes usage while evaluating additional Spot capabilities.
